至高者是配得稱頌 The Most High is Worthy of Praise

Is life only about working and toiling day after day, or are we made for a higher purpose? This Sunday, Rev. Jeremiah Cheung opens Psalm 92 to reveal what God created us for, and why it is good to worship the God who is worthy of all praise.

Life Group Discussion Guide
1. Start with a prayer
2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)
- Share a recent experience wherein you felt grateful to God. What happened, and how did it affect your thoughts, feelings, and decisions?
3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)
- Read the psalm. What does the imagery of the grass and the trees planted in the house of the LORD teach us about the difference between temporary prosperity and lasting fruitfulness? Identify which of your current priorities/what takes up your time is temporary or eternal.
- Why are the blessings of the righteous not a result of their own goodness, but a testimony to God’s righteousness?
4. Examine the heart (15-20 mins)
- How intentional are you in recognizing and praising God for His attributes (e.g., His love, faithfulness, holiness, wisdom, and goodness), especially when you pray? Which attribute do you often overlook?
- Look back and examine: Do you readily recognize God’s wonderful works, or do you tend to focus more on what is lacking or what has not happened yet?
5. Empower the hands (15-20 mins)
- What specific attribute of God can you intentionally praise Him for this week? How can you make praise a regular part of your worship and daily life?
- What wonderful work of God in your life can you take time to remember, reflect on, and share with someone as a testimony of His goodness?
6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)
- Praise God for His unchanging love, unfailing faithfulness, and wonderful works in our lives. Thank Him for being the Most High, whose wisdom, power, goodness, and righteousness are beyond our understanding. Rejoice that He has called us out of darkness, planted us in His house, and continues to sustain us so that we may bear fruit throughout our lives.
- Repent for the times you have focused more on temporary success, worldly pursuits, and personal recognition than on knowing, worshiping, and glorifying God. Ask for forgiveness for taking His blessings for granted and failing to recognize His wonderful works. Pray that you may remain rooted in Him, live with reverence for the Lord, and become a faithful testimony of His righteousness and the gospel through every season of your life.
