1. Start with a prayer
2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)
– Share 1-2 major decisions you’ve had to make in your life? How did these decisions affect your life?
3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)
– Read the passage. What is the significance of telling the history of Israel?
– What kind of decision did the Israelites have to make? Why is making this decision important?
– For you, what does serving the Lord look like?
– What did you learn through the book of Joshua?
4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)
– What do you like about making decisions? What do you least like about making decisions?
– What does it mean to serve the Lord?
– If you have made the decision to serve the Lord, do you find serving the Lord easy or difficult? Why do you say so?
5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)
– What decisions do you have to make right now? How should your knowledge, experience, and relationship with Jesus affect your decisions?
– Spend a few minutes to recall how God has been present in your life. How would you like to respond to God?
6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)
– Thank God for His presence in our life – that He does not leave us, nor forsake us; for His guidance and leading; for fighting the battles; for being trustworthy and for keeping His promises.
– Pray for continued trust in the Lord our God who is able and sovereign especially in times when difficulties cloud our mind and heart. Pray for continued hope in the Lord who has plans for our ultimate good and eternal assurance.
