被人無理拒絕的真相 The Truth on Irrational Rejection

Rejection can be painful, and it’s worse when the reasons for rejection are false or inaccurate. This Sunday, Rev. Jeremiah Cheung warns against drawing conclusions based on subjective emotions or public opinions. Let us strive to diligently and objectively seek the truth in all matters.

Life Group Discussion Guide
1. Start with a prayer
2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)
• Share a time you felt that your background or appearance influenced how people treated you (whether fairly or unfairly). How did you respond?
3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)
• Read the passage. What were the subjective emotions and biases that led the people of Nazareth to reject Jesus?
• How did the Nazarenes’ rejection of Jesus affect their ability to receive His blessings?
4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)
• How do you respond when confronted with Truths that challenge your biases or expectations? Are there areas in your life where you might be letting emotions or society/popular opinion overshadow the Truth of God’s word?
• Have you ever missed out on God’s blessings because of unbelief, prejudice, or envy? How did that make you feel?
5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)
• How can you guard against making judgments based on appearance, background, or personal biases?
• How can you encourage others around you to recognize and accept the Truth of Jesus, even when it’s unpopular or unaligned with their beliefs?
6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)
• Praise the Heavenly Father for the unwavering Truth of His word that endures forever. Thank Him for sending Jesus to teach, heal, and reveal the Truth to us in both word and deed. Give thanks for the many times He has shown us grace and for the blessings He has poured into our lives through faith.
• Repent for the times you have allowed your emotions, biases, and the opinions of others to cloud your understanding of the Truth. Ask for forgiveness for the times you have rejected or despised His word because it did not align with your expectations or desires. Pray that you may submit to His Truth with humility and faith, so that you may not miss out on the blessings God has prepared for you.
