1. Start with a prayer
2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)
• Share about a time when working with a partner or team made something more meaningful or successful than doing it alone.
3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)
• Read the passage. Why did Jesus send the disciples out in pairs? How does the principle from this passage and other parts of Scripture apply to our lives as believers?
• What is the significance of Jesus giving the disciples authority instead of money or resources when He sent them out?
4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)
• Are you currently relying more on your own abilities and resources, or on God’s presence and authority as you serve Him? Where is this rooted?
• What fears, insecurities, or pride might be holding you back from fully stepping into the Lord’s calling/mission for you?
5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)
• What specific area of your life can you invite a trusted friend or family member into as a spiritual companion, so that you’re not walking alone?
• Who is someone God is prompting you to serve, encourage, or share the Gospel with this week, even at the risk of being rejected?
6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)
• Praise the Lord for sending us out not in our own strength, but with His authority, presence, and provision. Thank Him for the privilege of joining Him in His mission, for surrounding us with people to walk and serve with, and for using even our simple faith to advance His Kingdom. Rejoice that Jesus is our Anointed One who heals, empowers, and goes before us.
• Repent for the times you have tried to serve alone, depended on your own abilities, or sought recognition or comfort more than God’s will. Ask forgiveness for any compromise in integrity, whether in how you handle rejection, material blessings, or your heart posture in service. Pray for a deeper reliance on God, the humility to walk with others, and the courage to persevere in the Lord’s ministry.
