錯,錯,錯 Wrong, Wrong, Wrong

世界的觀念是我們盡全力辯解我們的權利. 使徒保羅敦促基督徒敢於選擇不同的決定. 本週, 張國強牧師提醒我們, 作鹽和光而受委屈比較好.

While the world insists that we do what it takes to defend our rights, the Apostle Paul urges Christians to take a different path. This week, Rev. Jeremiah Cheung reminds us that it is sometimes better to be wronged for the sake of being the salt and light in a fallen world.

1. Start with a prayer

2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)
• Share a time you were in conflict with a fellow believer. What happened and how was it resolved? What can be learned from this experience?

3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)
• Read the passage. In what ways does Paul emphasize the significance of believers’ actions in the public sphere and their impact on the perception of Christian values and principles? In today’s time, what common behaviors do believers have that can negatively affect others?
• List other passages from the Bible about how Christians should deal with accusations of sin between brethren. Summarize and align them to today’s passage.

4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)
• Examine yourself: How have you demonstrated or fallen short of embodying Christ’s sacrificial love in resolving disputes?
• Be honest: Are you actively living in sin? What is encouraging and hindering you from pursuing holiness in all areas of your life?

5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)
• In what specific ways can you contribute to creating a culture within your Christian circles that prioritizes internal resolution of conflicts and maintains unity amidst disagreements?
• What active steps will you start this week in order to pursue greater holiness and separation from the patterns of the world, aligning more closely with the identity of being washed, sanctified, and justified in Christ?

6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)
• Thank the Lord for revealing the truth through His Word today. Thank Him for the reminder that we are called to be salt and light in this world, representing His love, grace, and justice. Praise Him for the privilege of being His child, empowered to judge with wisdom and compassion. Ask God to help you shine brightly in the darkness, bringing glory to His Name.
• Humbly ask for forgiveness for the times when you have failed to uphold the spirit of Christ’s sacrifice in your interactions with others. Confess that you have too often prioritized your own interests over the unity and peace of His body, the Church. Pray that you would become humble so you can repent and turn away from selfish ambition and pride. Request that God would help you embrace the identity of holiness He have given us and to live lives that reflect His righteousness.
