The Believer’s Warfare

Every believer is engaged in spiritual warfare, whether we realize it or not. This week, Ptr. Genesis Tan explains how we are involved in this war, how we can protect ourselves, and how to be victorious in battle.

1. Start with a prayer

2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)

  • What are your thoughts about spiritual battles?

3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)

  • Read the passage. Why do Christians need to be strong in the Lord?
  • What is the importance of each of these pieces of armor of God?
  • What does this passage teach us about prayer?
  • What did you learn about Satan from this passage? What did you learn about God?

4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)

  • With the schemes of Satan, how can you use God’s armor to protect you from his scheme? What is hindering you from putting on God’s armor?
  • Accountability: How can our group help you stand firm in the faith and help you put on the armor of God?

5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)

Choose 1:

  • In the book of Ephesians, Paul reminds us that we are a new humanity in Christ. What are you willing to commit as a new humanity in Christ? How are you going to do it?
  • As we finish the book of Ephesians, identify a person whom you can share your learnings with. How are you going to do it?

6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)

  • Thank the Lord for He is God and for giving us His Truth to equip us as we wrestle with the spiritual forces of evil. Thank God for Jesus as He already overcame and is victorious in the battle.
  • Ask God to help us be faithful, to stand firm in the faith, and to put on His armor by seeking Him intimately.
  • Pray for all believers to share the gospel with courage and boldness.
