Walk in the Light

We are called to imitate God by pursuing a life of purity, renewal, and gratitude. This week, Ptr. Genesis Tan shows us how to put off sin and put on our new self so we can truly walk in the light.

1. Start with a prayer

2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)

  • Follow up from previous week’s ‘Engage the Hands’. What specific action did you take to imitate Christ? How did you do it?

3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)

  • Read the passage. Having a new identity in Christ, what are the things that we should not be doing? Why should we avoid/stop doing these?
  • What are the things that we must do?
  • What does it mean for you that you are made holy through Christ and you are now light in the Lord? Why is it important to walk as children of light?

4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)

  • Reflect and share: From the things Paul mentioned, in what way do you find it hard to imitate the Lord? How can our group help you in this area?

5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)

  • Our being is manifested in our doing. What action steps can you take to improve your relationship with the Lord?

6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)

  • Thank God for making us holy through Christ, for His grace, and for being patient with us.
  • Ask God for forgiveness during the times that we have failed to please Him and have chosen to continue walking in darkness.
  • Ask God to help us to align our hearts to Him, to renew our minds with things that please Him, to turn away from filthy things and to turn to Him.
