信心攀山之旅 Climbing by Faith

When adversity comes our way, do we push forward, remain where we are, or give up before the fight has even begun? This Sunday, Rev. Dr. Johann Lai calls us to learn from Caleb, who was promised the hill country because his heart was fully devoted to the Lord. Let us climb by faith, trusting God to turn our obstacles into opportunities.

Life Group Discussion Guide
1. Start with a prayer
2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)
- Share a time you had to wait a long time for something you hoped or prayed for. What did that season of waiting teach you?
3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)
- Read the psalm. What made Caleb’s perspective different from the ten other spies when they saw the Anakites? What does this teach you about seeing challenges through the lens of faith?
- What were the climbing essentials that helped Caleb remain faithful? How did each one contribute to his perseverance?
4. Examine the heart (15-20 mins)
- When you face your giants, do you tend to focus more on how difficult the situation is or on how faithful and powerful God is? What does your response reveal about your faith?
- What Mount Hebron in your life currently feels too difficult, intimidating, or impossible for you to face? What makes it feel that way?
5. Empower the hands (15-20 mins)
- What specific promise of God do you need to anchor yourself to as you face your Mount Hebron? How can you intentionally remind yourself of that promise?
- What calling, ministry, relationship, habit, or responsibility have you been hesitant to confront? What would wholehearted obedience look like in that area?
6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)
- Praise God for His unchanging faithfulness throughout every season—even when the journey is difficult, the waiting is long, and the mountains before us seem impossible. Thank Him for the ways He has sustained, protected, strengthened, and carried us through past challenges. Ask for a heart like Caleb’s that continues to trust God because He is faithful.
- Repent of the times you have avoided challenges God is calling you to face, grown weary during seasons of waiting, or held back from wholehearted obedience. Ask God to realign your perspective, strengthen your faith, and help you trust His promises more than what your eyes can see so you can courageously climb your Mount Hebron by faith.
