Many believers commune with God only to seek help or give thanks when prayers are answered. Too many miss out on beholding God and praising Him for all that He is. This Sunday, Rev. Jeremiah Cheung stresses the importance of extolling the Lord at all times and all places. Let us learn to keep His praise continually on our lips.

Life Group Discussion Guide
1. Start with a prayer
2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)
- When you hear the phrase, “Praising God for 24 hours,” what thoughts and feelings come out? Does it sound joyful, tiring, unrealistic, or something else? Why?
3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)
- Read the psalm. What is the difference between praising God for what He has done and praising Him for who He is? Why are both important?
- What specific attitudes and actions describe someone who fears God?
4. Examine the heart (15-20 mins)
- Which area of fearing the Lord needs the most growth in your life right now: controlling your words, turning away from evil and doing good, or pursuing peace? Why?
- What aspect of your life is pride, hidden sin, or self-reliance keeping you from experiencing God’s nearness? What would it look like to humbly seek Him and surrender these to Him?
5. Empower the hands (15-20 mins)
- Are you more likely to praise God only when life is going well, or have you learned to praise Him even in difficult seasons? What does this reveal? Identify one practical habit you can start this week to help you praise God throughout your day aside from church, ministry, or quiet time.
- How can you intentionally use your words this week to bring encouragement, truth, and life to someone around you?
6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)
- Praise God because He is worthy of continual praise. Thank Him for being our Deliverer, Provider, and the God who draws near to those who seek Him. Thank Him for His faithfulness in every season, for sustaining us through difficulties, forgiving our sins, and proving that He is always good and trustworthy.
- Ask God to forgive you for the times you have praised Him only when life was going well while complaining, doubting, or relying on yourself during hardships. Confess any careless words, sinful actions, or unwillingness to pursue peace. Ask Him to cultivate in you a genuine fear of the Lord, a heart that continually seeks Him, and a life that reflects His goodness through both your words and your actions.
