Candidacy Period For The New Deacons 2022
The 2022 candidacy period for the appointment of the Christian Bible Church of the Philippines’ new batch of church deacons will be held from August 14 to 28, 2022.
This is a time for church members to evaluate and give feedback regarding any issues about the candidates.

Selection and qualification
Under our new church by-laws, deacons will no longer be elected by our congregation but appointed through the recommendation of the Pastoral Committee, Board of Elders and Church Leadership.
The selection and qualifications of the Elders are modeled after the instructions of the Apostle Paul in 1 Timothy 3:8-13
“In the same way, deacons are to be worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine, and not pursuing dishonest gain. They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience. They must first be tested; and then if there is nothing against them, let them serve as deacons.
In the same way, their wives are to be women worthy of respect, not malicious talkers but temperate and trustworthy in everything.
A deacon must be faithful to his wife and must manage his children and his household well. Those who have served well gain an excellent standing and great assurance in their faith in Christ Jesus.”
For any objections
- Objections to any of the candidates should be submitted in WRITTEN FORM – stating facts and reasons why he or she is not qualified to serve as a Deacon. Please submit written objections to our Senior Pastor – Rev. Jeremiah Cheung at [email protected].
- These will be carefully reviewed by the church Pastoral Committee and Board of Elders. Should they find the objections valid, the candidate in question will be disqualified from serving as a Deacon.
If no objections will be received
The candidates will be appointed as Deacons during our On-site Bilingual Worship Service on January 1, 2023.
