神的揀選與人的信心(一) God’s Election and Man’s Faith (Part 1)

Romans 9 outlines God’s Sovereignty in the selection of His people—Israel and the Church. This week, Rev. Jeremiah Cheung discusses the mystery of the connection between God’s election and man’s response in faith to God’s calling.

  • What can we learn about God’s fairness from Moses and Pharaoh’s story?
  • What does Paul say about our responsibility and free will?

4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)

  • From what you shared in ‘Engage with one another’, how is God’s fairness/justice similar or different from our understanding of it? What attitude should we change?
  • In times when you feel unfair, what Truth can you hold on to for you to align with God?

5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)

  • What specific actions can you take towards the change of attitude in looking at God’s fairness?

6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)

  • Thank the Lord for His sovereignty, justice, mercy, and patience.
  • Acknowledge our limits in understanding and entrust to God the things that we cannot comprehend knowing God’s ways are higher than ours.
  • Pray for the Spirit’s power to help us use our free will wisely and to guide us in making decisions.
