1. Start with a prayer

2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)

  • Share what makes you angry.

3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)

  • Read the passage. Describe man’s sinfulness.
  • How does God show His wrath? What is the purpose of His anger?

4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)

  • How are you similar to the men described by Paul? What does this say about your need for the Gospel?
  • Share a time when you rebelled against God (can be before or after you have become a believer). What was the result? What would you do differently?

5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)

  • What action steps can you take to be more aware of God’s heart towards sin? How can our group help you in this? (Note to leaders: Take note of what members share for follow up in the coming weeks.)

6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)

  • Praise and thank God for His righteous and holy anger and for revealing to us His heart towards sin. Thank God for sending Jesus to save us from our sinfulness and for giving us a choice to pursue godliness instead of being controlled by sin.
  • Confess our need for the Gospel and ask the Holy Spirit to fill us especially when faced with situations that we find difficult to pursue godliness.
  • Ask God to bring our sins to our knowledge that we may turn from them, return to God and experience His love through the Gospel.
