Be a Wise Husband

Our God expects husbands to be their family’s provider, protector, and leader. This week, Ptr. Genesis Tan shares that husbands can fulfill this vital role if they seek God’s wisdom in humility, pursue sexual purity, and control their temper and irritability.

1. Start with a prayer

2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)

  • What will it mean for you if the husbands in your circle are after God’s own heart?

3. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)

  • What does it mean for you to submit to Christ’s headship?

4. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)

  • Read Ephesians 5:21-31. What does this passage say about the role of a husband?
  • For husbands, what Truth from this passage challenges you?
  • For non-husbands, what is your attitude towards the husbands in your circle? In what way can you support them to fulfill their role?
  • In what way does Christ’s love for the church model the love of a husband for his wife?

5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)

  • For husbands, what would you like to commit in order to pursue being a husband after God’s own heart?
  • For non-husbands, what action steps can you take to support the husbands in your circle as they pursue being a husband after God’s own heart?

6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)

  • Pray for each other’s needs and concerns. (10-15 minutes)
  • Pray for our families. (10-15 minutes)
    • Health and wellbeing – physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual.
    • For family members to understand and live out their God-given roles in the family.
