Restoration from Suffering

The story of Job offers us a glimpse of the restoration that we as Christians can hope for. This week, Ptr. Jared Co highlights how Job’s complete restoration assures us that our future will be more beautiful and glorious than we can imagine.

Life Group Discussion Guide

1. Start with a prayer

2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)

  • Think of an experience when something you value got broken and later restored. How did you feel when it was restored?

3. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)

  • What does it mean for you that God restores?

4. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)

  • Read Job 42. What changed in Job’s perspective of God?
  • In what ways did God restore Job?
  • In what way is Job a foreshadow of Jesus?
  • Self reflection: In what ways am I broken (e.g. physically, relationally, spiritually, etc.)? How can I bring these to God who restores? (Spend 2-3 minutes of silence to pray)

5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)

  • Think and pray for a specific person you can share about what you have learned through the book of Job. What action steps will you take towards it? (Note to leader: Make a follow up in the coming weeks)

6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)

  • Pray for each other’s needs and concerns. (10-15 minutes)
  • Pray for our country. (10-15 minutes)
    • DOH reports 177 additional Delta variant cases. This brings the total Delta variant cases in PH to 627.
    • We are in the midst of a surge as cases continue to rise and hospitals reach full capacity.
