As followers of Jesus, God calls us to be faithful and honor our commitments. This week, Ptr. Genesis Tan reminds us that we fail to honor our Lord when we do not honor our commitment to Christ or fail to honor our marriage covenant to our spouse.
Ngayong linggo, hinihikayat tayo ni Ptr. Mike Cariño na mahalin ang isa’t isa, maging tapat sa ating asawa, at manatili sa pagsunod sa Diyos. Nasasaktan ang Diyos kapag tayo ay nagtataksil sa Kanya, sa ating kabiyak, o sa ating kapwa.
Amos shows us how an intercessor may plead for the Lord’s mercy and delay the Lord’s judgment, but the day will still come when the justice can no longer be denied. Let us not mistake God’s grace as a license to sin and indulge as we please.
We can pray and fast on our own, but these practices take on a whole new meaning when they are done as a community. When we pray and fast together, we create opportunities to carry each other’s burdens as the Lord has commanded us. Together, we are stronger. Let us gather in collective prayer and fasting and strengthen our church as one body.
