Mirror Mirror
Just as a coin bears the image of its owner, so we must bear the image of God. This Sunday, Pastor Renz Raquion challenges us to remember who we belong to amidst a culture obsessed with achievement and performance. Let us offer to God what is already rightfully His—our lives.

Life Group Discussion Guide
1. Start with a prayer
2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)
– What is one label people often use to describe you (job, role, strength, weakness)? How do you feel about that label?
3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)
– Read the passage. What does Jesus mean by saying, “Render to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s”? (v.17)
– What is the difference between religious obligation and relational devotion as shown in this passage?
4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)
– How have you been approaching your relationship with God lately—more as a transaction or as a relationship? Are there areas where you have been asking, “What’s the minimum required?” instead of, “How can I grow closer to God?” What does this reveal about your heart?
– What do you usually look to for your sense of identity or worth (career, achievements, relationships, possessions, or status)? Where is this rooted? What do these things offer you?
5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)
– What is one practical way you can move from religious duty to a deeper relationship with God this week?
– How can you remind yourself daily that your identity comes from being God’s, not from what you do or achieve?
6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)
– Praise the Heavenly Father for creating us in His image and declaring our worth long before we achieved or accomplished anything. Thank Him that our identity is secure because we belong to Him, not because of what we do. Give thanks that He desires relationship, not mere obligation, and that He invites us to surrender our lives into His loving hands. Rejoice that everything we are and everything we have ultimately finds its purpose in Him.
– Repent for the times you have approached God with a transactional heart, offering duty instead of devotion and minimum effort instead of wholehearted surrender. Ask for forgiveness for finding your identity in achievements, approval, or possessions rather than in being made in God’s image. Confess the areas where you have held tightly to control instead of trusting God fully. Pray for a transformed heart that gladly returns your life to its rightful Owner.
