From Groaning to Glory

Deliverance comes for Esther and the Jewish people. Their enemy is subdued and their fortunes are restored by God. Listen to Rev. Genesis Tan this week as he reminds us that our God is a God of great reversals; He can turn our groaning to glory because He cares for us and He will triumph over evil.

1. Start with a prayer

2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)
– Share a time when you experienced God’s intervention this past week.

3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)
– Read the passage. How did things turn out for Mordecai, Esther, and the Jews?
– How does Mordecai/Esther foreshadow Christ?
– What did you learn about God through the passage?

4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)
– What about Mordecai/Esther that you would like to imitate?
– With what you have learned about God, what does this say about you being His child?
– Where do you see God’s hands in your day to day life?
– In your relationships, identify situations where you need to be more intentional in living out Christlikeness.

5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)
– As God’s child, how should this translate into your day to day decisions? Be specific.
– Identify 1-2 things that you will start doing towards being more intentional in living out Christlikeness.

6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)
– Thank God that because of His sacrifice on the cross we are no longer living in bondage but have overcome it through His grace.
– Seek God’s forgiveness for the times when we tend to grumble instead of relying and putting our faith in God’s sovereignty and power to turn things around.
– Pray for a steadfast heart that despite being in a seemingly impossible situation, God is working for our good and for His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven.
