1. Start with a prayer

2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)

  • Choose 2 LG members to share a devotion they recently had.
  • What point in the message was most impactful for you?

3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)

  • What qualities did Joshua have? Read Num. 27:18, how did God describe Joshua and what does this mean?
  • What challenges did Joshua face? How did Joshua overcome life’s challenges?
  • How did Moses encourage Joshua (Deut. 3:7-8)? How did the Israelites encourage Joshua (Joshua 1:16-18)? How did the Lord encourage Joshua (Deut. 31:14, 23 and Joshua 1:1-2, 6)?
  • How did Joshua’s life foreshadow our Lord Jesus? How is Jesus victorious?

4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)

  • How do you handle trials and failures?
  • How does God’s ‘be strong and courageous’ in Joshua 1:7-9 apply to you right now?
  • For you, how important is God’s word/instructions? If God’s word is important, what about it that you are struggling to obey?
  • Reflect on Joshua 24:15. What does this mean for you?

5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)

  • In what way can our group help you in your struggle to obey God? (accountability)

6. Engage God in prayer (20-30 mins)

  • Pray for each other’s needs and concerns. (10-15 minutes)
  • Pray for our country. (10-15 minutes)
    • Wisdom and godly counsel for our nation’s leaders to make the right decisions
    • Salvation and personal encounters of our leaders with God, that they may experience God’s saving grace
    • God’s justice and righteousness to reign in our land
