God in All Things

God in All Things

Life finds its purpose when God is at the center. In contrast, things tend to fall apart when we place our trust in others or ourselves. This Sunday, Rev. Jared Co encourages us to place God as the center in all things, for He is in control of both our present and our future.

1. Start with a prayer

2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)

  • Think of a season when something other than God became the center of your life (e.g., work, studies, relationships, success, comfort, or approval). What happened, and what did you learn from that experience?

3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)

  • Read the psalm. How does putting God at the center affect our relationships, our view of our circumstances, and the counsel we follow?
  • How does the New Testament show that Psalm 16 ultimately points to Jesus? What does this reveal about God’s desire for fellowship with His people?

4. Examine the heart (15-20 mins)

  • How have your relationships reflected whether God is truly at the center of your life? Are they drawing you closer to Him or pulling your heart elsewhere?
  • When your circumstances become difficult or disappointing, where do you usually look for security, contentment, or hope?
  • Whose voice or advice do you naturally trust most when making important decisions? How does that compare to your dependence on God’s Word?

5. Empower the hands (15-20 mins)

  • What is one practical way you can intentionally place Jesus at the center of your daily life this week?
  • How can you encourage another believer this week to keep Christ at the center of their life?

6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)

  • Thank the Heavenly Father for being our perfect Savior, Lord, and greatest treasure. Praise Him because every good thing ultimately comes from Him, and apart from Him there is no lasting joy, security, or hope. Thank Him for faithfully guiding us through His Word, sustaining us in every circumstance, and giving us an unshakable future through Jesus Christ. Rejoice that because of Christ’s death and resurrection, nothing can separate us from fellowship with God, and our hope is secure both now and forever.
  • Repent for the times you have allowed something or someone else to take the center of your heart instead of God. Ask His forgiveness for seeking security, identity, contentment, or wisdom in your achievements, possessions, relationships, comfort, or your own understanding rather than in Him. Pray that the Holy Spirit would expose every competing idol, renew your love for Christ, and help you continually place Jesus at the center of your thoughts, decisions, relationships, and future so that your life reflects that He alone is your Savior, Lord, and greatest good.
