Just Can’t Get Enough

The soul that hungers for God will never walk away empty. This Sunday, Ptr. Renz Raquion invites us to discover that real worship is not about abundance or loss, but about a thirst only God can satisfy. The One who meets us in the wilderness is the same One who fills us to overflowing. Let us come thirsty, and leave feasting on the faithfulness of God.

Life Group Discussion Guide
1. Start with a prayer
2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)
- Share about something you once wanted badly, but after getting it, realized it did not satisfy as much as you expected. What did you learn?
3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)
- Read the passage. Why does worship begin with thirst rather than fullness?
- How does Psalm 63 point us toward Jesus and the invitation to find ultimate satisfaction in Him?
4. Examine the heart (15-20 mins)
- What have you been thirsting for lately? Are there areas in your life where comfort, entertainment, achievement, relationships, success, control, or busyness have quietly become counterfeit satisfaction? What does that reveal about the condition of your heart?
- If someone observed your daily choices and attention, what would they conclude you worship most?
5. Empower the hands (15-20 mins)
- When you seek God, do you find yourself pursuing Him for who He is or mostly for what He can provide? What is one practical way you can cultivate spiritual hunger for God (not just His blessings) this week instead of filling yourself with temporary satisfaction?
- How can you intentionally create space for truth to become an encounter (through Scripture, worship, prayer, meditation, journaling, silence, etc.)?
6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)
- Praise the Heavenly Father because He sought us before we ever sought Him. Thank Him that the thirst in our souls is evidence of His gracious pursuit and invitation into relationship. Rejoice that His steadfast and covenant love is better than life itself and that He remains more than enough even in seasons of wilderness, dryness, and loss. Thank Jesus for entering the wilderness and thirsting on the cross so that our souls may be eternally satisfied in Him.
- Repent for the times you have tried to satisfy your soul with temporary comforts, achievements, control, distractions, or blessings apart from God Himself. Ask for forgiveness for seeking God mainly for His gifts rather than delighting in Him for who He is. Repent for allowing counterfeit satisfactions and sinful desires to suppress your hunger for God. Pray that the Holy Spirit would restore your spiritual appetite, deepen your worship, and embrace that He alone is enough.
