Hosea warns of the judgment that awaits those who speak and act in disobedience to the Lord. Let us repent of our sins and sow righteousness that we may also reap goodness.

When we fail to revere and fear the Lord as our one and only God and King, we are like a vine that used to bear abundant fruit but has now been reduced to thorns and thistles. Let Israel’s experience in this passage from Hosea be a warning to us.

Let us not make the mistake of taking the Lord’s love for granted, lest disasters befall us when our Lord’s judgment comes.

When we live for ourselves and not for God, our efforts are all for naught. Let us not fool ourselves by going through the motions of merely acting like a Christian instead of truly being one.
