聖經中的權柄觀 The Biblical View on Authority

宗教領袖質疑耶穌在聖殿中的權柄,拒絕承認這位唯一真彌賽亞的權柄。本週日,張國強牧師分享道:權力雖能帶來益處,但若不承認權柄的源頭,便可能導致腐敗。

The religious leaders questioned Jesus’ authority in the temple, refusing to recognize the authority of the One true Messiah. This Sunday, Rev. Jeremiah Cheung shares that while being in power has benefits, it can also lead to corruption if we do not acknowledge the Source of all authority.

1. Start with a prayer

2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)
• Share a time when you struggled with someone’s authority over you. What made it difficult to submit?

3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)
• Read the passage. Why did the religious leaders question Jesus’ authority? What were they trying to accomplish?
• What does the parable of the vineyard reveal about how the tenants viewed authority?

4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)
• Be honest: Whose approval do you fear and look for—God’s or people’s? How does this influence your decisions?
• In what ways have you questioned or resisted God’s authority in your life?

5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)
• What practical steps can you take to honor God’s authority in your daily decisions this week?
• How can you use any influence, role, or leadership you have to serve rather than control others?

6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)
• Praise the Heavenly Father for being the ultimate source of all authority in heaven and on earth. Thank Him for ruling with perfect wisdom, justice, and love. Give thanks that He entrusted His mission to His people, not because of human merit, but because of His grace. Rejoice that Jesus, though rejected by many, became the Cornerstone of the Church and the foundation of your faith.
• Repent for the times you have feared people more than God and allowed human approval to shape your choices. Ask for forgiveness for questioning God’s authority when it challenges your comfort or control. Confess the moments when you have treated leadership or responsibility as something to protect or own rather than a trust from God. Pray for a humble heart that submits to God’s will and uses authority to serve, not to dominate.
