Eternal Life
While we think we can attain eternal life through our actions and knowledge, Jesus lovingly disagrees. This Sunday, Pastor Nathan Tee shows how Jesus highlights the impossibility of our pursuits, and instead guides us towards a reliance on God and the potential of life through Him.

Life Group Discussion Guide
1. Start with a prayer
2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)
Share a season when you were spiritually tired or burnt out. What caused it?
3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)
Read the passage. Why can neither riches, moral performance, nor religion earn us eternal life?
What does “With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God.” (v27) reveal about the true way eternal life is received?
4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)
In what ways have you been trying to achieve worth, acceptance, or eternal life through your own effort, goodness, or success?
What do you tend to rely on to make you feel secure before God and people—riches, performance, reputation, or ministry? Where is this rooted?
5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)
What is one specific attempt at self-achievement or self-righteousness you need to repent of this week?
How can you reorder your routines, priorities, or habits to rest in God’s mercy instead of striving for acceptance?
6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)
Praise the Heavenly Father for His mercy and grace that make eternal life possible. Thank Him that salvation is not achieved by riches, performance, morality, or religious effort, but freely given through Christ. Celebrate the loving eyes of Jesus—eyes that see our insufficiency yet draw us with compassion and offer us true life.
Repent for the ways you have tried to gain life, worth, and acceptance apart from God—through achievements, success, ministry, or self-righteousness. Ask forgiveness for striving in your own strength and for placing confidence in what cannot save. Pray for a heart that lets go of self-effort and learns to receive eternal life with childlike faith, trusting fully in the Father’s love and grace.
