Follow Me: The Way of the Cross
Jesus told His disciples of His imminent suffering and death, revealing the real cost of following Him. This Sunday, Ptr. Joseph Ouano shares what it truly means to follow Jesus, reminding us that we will find true life in Christ if we give our lives to Him.

Life Group Discussion Guide
1. Start with a prayer
2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)
– Share a time you witnessed someone unashamed about their faith. What stood out to you in that experience?
3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)
– Read the passage. Why did Peter struggle with the idea of Jesus as the suffering Messiah? What does Jesus’ rebuke reveal about God’s ways versus worldly thinking?
– What does it mean to “deny yourself and take up your cross” in the context of discipleship?
4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)
– In what ways have you been tempted to follow Jesus on your own terms, rather than His?
– What personal agendas, expectations, or desires compete with your full allegiance to Christ?
5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)
– What is one concrete way you can practice denying yourself to follow Christ more fully this week?
– What intentional step can you take to boldly stand for Christ in your school/workplace, relationships, or community?
6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)
– Praise the Lord Jesus Christ for embracing the way of the cross so that you may have true life in Him. Thank Him that His path of suffering and rejection did not end in shame but in glory, and that by following Him, you share in His life and His honor. Rejoice that His ways are trustworthy and never fail.
– Repent for the times you have followed Jesus on your own terms, seeking comfort instead of costly loyalty. Ask forgiveness for moments when you were ashamed of Him or doubted His ways out of fear that they would disappoint. Pray for a heart that will deny itself daily, take up the cross, and follow Him with courage and unwavering trust.
