普世的救主 Savior of the World

五餅二魚神蹟的對象主要是猶大人。 在馬可福音第八章的神蹟,對像主要是外邦人。張國強牧師會藉著這些神蹟來證明祂就是普世的救主。

Jesus ministered to the Jews when He performed the miracle of the five loaves and two fish. In Mark Chapter 8, He performs a similar miracle, but this time for the Gentiles. This Sunday, Rev. Jeremiah Cheung shares how these miracles prove that Jesus is indeed the Savior of the world.

1. Start with a prayer

2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)
• Share a time when you were surprised by someone’s kindness or help. What happened? How did that impact your relationship?

3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)
• Read the passage. Why do you think the disciples struggled to show compassion in this situation, even though they had seen a similar miracle before in Mark 6?
• How does Jesus’ provision in this story point to the Gospel as meeting both physical and spiritual needs?

4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)
• When you see people in need (whether physical, emotional, or spiritual), do you respond with compassion, or do you respond with judgment or indifference? Where do you think this is rooted?
• How satisfied are you right now in Jesus as the Bread of Life? Where might you be seeking satisfaction elsewhere?

5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)
• This week, what is one practical way you can extend compassion to someone who might be outside your usual circle or comfort zone?
• What “loaves and fish” do you have that you can surrender to Jesus for Him to multiply for others’ good?

6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)
• Praise the Heavenly Father for revealing Jesus as the compassionate, capable, and abundantly gracious Savior of the world. Thank Him that His love and mercy extend to both those who seem near and those who seem far from Him. Rejoice that He not only meets our physical needs but also satisfies our deepest spiritual hunger through Christ, the Bread of Life.
• Repent for the times you have withheld compassion from others, especially those different from you or those you deemed “unworthy” of help. Ask forgiveness for relying on your own resources and perspectives rather than trusting Jesus’ power to do the impossible. Pray for a renewed heart that sees people as sheep without a Shepherd and responds with Christ’s love and mercy.
