Power Overwhelming
Every day, we may encounter supernatural forces that either harm or heal us. This Sunday, Ptr. Jared Co explains how these forces affect our lives and urges us to draw closer to the One who is good and capable of overcoming evil.

Life Group Discussion Guide
1. Start with a prayer
2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)
– Share a time in your life when weakness actually led to growth or healing. How did that feel? What did you realize?
3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)
– Read the passage. How does it contrast the power of evil with the power of Jesus?
– Why does Jesus not allow the healed man to go with Him? What does this say about Jesus’ mission?
4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)
– What subtle powers or influences might be quietly shaping your thoughts, choices, or affections right now?
– What do you think Jesus would do in your life and others if you fully surrendered control to Him? What encourages and hinders you from completely submitting to Him?
5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)
– What is one way you can intentionally unmask the influence of evil in your life (habits, thoughts, or relationships) this week?
– Who in your life needs to hear about the power and love of Jesus? What’s one way you can reflect that to them?
6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)
– Praise Jesus for being infinitely powerful and yet infinitely loving. Thank Him for not trampling over us with force, but humbling Himself to be trampled for our sake. Worship Him for the authority that delivers us and the mercy that restores us. Rejoice in the truth that when we are weak before Him, we are being made strong in Him.
– Repent for the ways you have allowed subtle evil influences to shape your life—whether through pride, fear, or false strength. Ask for forgiveness for resisting Jesus’ power out of a desire to stay in control. Confess your reluctance to become weak before Him, and pray for the courage to trust His loving authority to strip away what binds you and remake you in freedom.
