1. Start with a prayer
2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)
• Share a time you became aware of a sin in your life and knew you had to repent or turn back to God. What helped you respond?
3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)
• Read the passage. Why were Jesus’ family members and the teachers of the law reacting strongly to Him here?
• What do the three parables (kingdom, house, strong man) reveal about spiritual warfare and unity in God’s kingdom versus Satan’s?
4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)
• How passionate are you about building and advancing God’s kingdom? Would others see you as “crazy for Jesus” based on your obedience and lifestyle, or is being liked and accepted influencing your choices more?
• How sensitive are you to sin in your life and the Holy Spirit’s work? How do you respond when the Holy Spirit convicts you?
5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)
• In what areas of your life are you struggling to obey God’s will right now? What specific action can you take this week to pursue God’s will, even if others misunderstand or criticize you?
• How can you participate in advancing the gospel in your current circles (school/work, family, friends)?
6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)
• Praise our Heavenly Father for adopting us into His family through Christ Jesus. Thank Him for the privilege of knowing His will, being called to His mission, and being transformed by the Holy Spirit. Let us rejoice that we are not merely called His children in name, but in nature and in calling as well.
• Repent for the times you have ignored the Holy Spirit’s promptings, chosen convenience over mission, or lacked zeal for God’s kingdom. Ask God to renew your desire to obey His will fully, even when it feels costly or misunderstood.
