Life Group Discussion Guide
1. Start with a prayer
2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)
• Share a time you were almost/got swayed by harmful influence. How did this experience help you become more vigilant so as not to get easily influenced or deceived?
3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)
• Read the passage. In your own words, explain what the implications would be for us if Jesus did not resurrect (vv.12-19).
• What is the connection between Jesus’ reign and resurrection (vv.25-26)?
4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)
• How does the reality of the resurrection influence your view of death? Do you still fear death, or are you able to trust in Christ’s victory over it?
• Be honest: Do you sometimes find yourself picking out the parts you like and moral teachings you agree with in the Bible and disregarding the rest? What encourages and hinders you from believing God’s Word in its entirety and living out your faith according to what it teaches?
5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)
• How can you live out your faith more boldly in word (sharing the Gospel) and deed (doing good works for Christ) this week?
• What steps can you take to avoid the influence of those who deny the resurrection (and Christianity as a whole) and instead remain steadfast in being good and faithful stewards of God’s kingdom?
6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)
• Praise God for the incredible hope and victory given to us through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Thank Him for the assurance that because Christ has been raised from the dead, we too have the promise of eternal life and victory over sin and death. Rejoice in His power that conquered the grave, and express your gratitude that our faith is not in vain, but firmly grounded in the risen Savior who leads us into eternal life.
• Repent for the times you have doubted the power of Christ’s resurrection, allowing fear of death or despair to take hold in your heart. Ask for forgiveness for moments when you have forgotten the victory Christ has already secured and failed to live boldly for the Gospel. Pray for a renewed faith and a heart that testifies to the truth of Christ’s resurrection in both word and deed.
