Although God gave us the freedom and creativity to express our worship, our church gatherings also need order. This week, Rev. Jeremiah Cheung explains how we edify the church when freedom and order coexist in our worship.

Life Group Discussion Guide
1. Start with a prayer
2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)
• Share instances you’ve observed the necessity for a balance between order and freedom. How did it make you further appreciate God as our loving Creator and Father?
3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)
• Read the passage. List the kinds of activities in the assemblies according to verse 26. What goal should each gift accomplish in the assembly? How can this verse be applied today?
• How do order and submission contribute to worship and building others up?
4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)
• Have you been extending mutual respect to others? What encourages and hinders you from doing so?
• When you listen to God’s word, are you quick to listen? Is your heart teachable and shuns evil? Why or why not?
5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)
• How can you become more discerning in receiving and weighing messages, ensuring they align with God’s Truth?
• Do you believe that the word of God is His command and that we must follow it? What encourages and hinders you from obeying His commands? What specific steps can you take to obey Him more boldly and fully, being salt and light wherever you go?
6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)
• Praise God for being a God of both order and freedom, who has given us His word to guide our worship and build up the church. Thank Him for the gift of the church body, where we can gather to glorify Him and encourage one another. Rejoice in His wisdom that ensures our worship is filled with both reverence and freedom, pointing us always to His glory and truth.
• Repent for the times you have allowed disorder, self-centeredness, or resistance to God’s commands to disrupt the harmony of worship. Ask for forgiveness for when you have failed to discern His word properly or neglected the call to build others up in love. Pray for a humble and teachable heart, fully submitting to His authority and embracing the balance of order and freedom He has set for us in worship.
