Don’t Speak
The gift and work of Prophecy is the clarification of God’s truth in our daily lives. This week, Ptr. Renz Raquion urges us to follow Paul’s call by striving to make the Gospel clear to everyone in the name of love.

Life Group Discussion Guide
1. Start with a prayer
2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)
– Share an instance you were in a worship environment where you did not understand what was being said. How did this affect your connection with God?
3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)
– Read the passage and look back on the previous chapters. Why does Paul spend so much time addressing spiritual gifts?
– How does Paul contrast the use of tongues and prophecy in public worship in the church? (vv.14-15)
4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)
– Evaluate yourself: How have you been contributing to ensure that our worship services are both spiritually fervent and understandable?
– How have you been using your spiritual gifts to build up the church community? What encourages and hinders you from doing so?
5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)
– Identify an opportunity this week where you can speak God’s truth to encourage or comfort someone who is struggling. How will you approach this in a way that reflects God’s love?
– How can you be more mindful of creating an environment, whether in church or daily interactions, that fosters understanding and helps others experience God’s love and presence?
6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)
– Praise God for His desire to communicate with us clearly and for the gift of prophecy that allows us to understand His heart and truth. Thank the Lord for equipping us to speak His words of encouragement, comfort, and strength to one another. Rejoice that God’s love creates a worship environment where believers can be built up and where unbelievers can come to know Him through clear and understandable words. Pray that God will develop in you attitudes that make you a blessing to the entire body when you meet for worship and that He will guide you to know when to speak and when to keep silent, always grounded in sincere love for your brothers and sisters in Christ.
– Repent for the times you have prioritized your own edification over the edification of the church. Ask for forgiveness for moments when your words or actions in worship have caused confusion or division rather than building up the body of Christ. Pray for a heart that seeks to prophesy with love, clarity, and purpose, so that your words may always reflect God’s desire to strengthen and encourage others. Seek His help in cultivating a sincere love for your fellow believers and in using your speech wisely, so that every word spoken or withheld honors God and edifies His people.
