The Love that Lasts Forever
Spiritual gifts do not apply to all people and every situation. In contrast, love is always crucial in every situation and with every person. This week, Pastor Nathan Tee shares the reasons why love is the ultimate power and why love lasts forever.

Life Group Discussion Guide
1. Start with a prayer
2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)
– Share an instance where you tried to earn or produce love by your own efforts. What happened? How did it impact your view and experience of love?
3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)
– Read the passage. Why and when would spiritual gifts cease (vv.9-10)? List passages about the purpose of spiritual gifts. Prove whether or not they have accomplished their purpose.
– In your own words, explain why love is considered the greatest compared to faith and hope (v.13). How do faith, hope, and love relate to each other?
4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)
– What areas in your life need maturing through embracing God’s self-giving and self-sacrificing love rather than striving on your own? What encourages and hinders you from doing so?
– Examine yourself: Is your love for God and others a reflection of your belonging and being in the love of God? Why or why not?
5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)
– Identify how you’re being immature in your thoughts, speech, or actions. How can you actively replace this with the self-giving and self-sacrificing love of Christ?
– How can you demonstrate God’s love in your community (Life Group, family, friends, churchmates, etc) this week, knowing that love is what testifies to your belonging and being in Him? What specific action can you take to show love that points to the certainty of God’s presence and power in your life?
6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)
– Praise the Heavenly Father for the incredible gift of His love that is fully revealed in Christ Jesus. Thank Him for showing us what true love is and for maturing us through His self-giving and self-sacrificing love. Express your gratitude for His love endures forever and that it completes our fellowship with Him and with others. Rejoice in His love that meets us where we are and transforms us
– Repent for the times you have tried to earn or produce love on your own, failing to recognize the limitations of your efforts. Ask for forgiveness for relying on your own strength rather than opening your hearts to receive and reflect the perfect love God offers through Christ. Pray that you may be able to let go of your childish ways and embrace the love that God reveals to us, so that our love may truly reflect His nature.
