Gospel Love: How Hearts are Transformed (Part 1)
When we encounter genuine love, we experience more than just an emotional high; we experience a heart transformation. This week, Ptr. Isaac Cheung explains the significance of Gospel love and how it leads to receiving supernatural love and transformation.

Life Group Discussion Guide
1. Start with a prayer
2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)
– Share your understanding of Agape love. Do you find that your love for others is often conditional or based on their performance? How does this compare to God’s unconditional love for you?
3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)
– Read the passage. Explain how love would have helped the Corinthians’ problems.
– Do the following with each characteristic of love (vv.4-7): (1) define its meaning, (2) give at least one other passage about it, and (3) list at least two specific applications of it in your life.
4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)
– How have you seen the tendency in your life to say “me first” instead of “you first,” especially in your relationship with God? What impact has this had on your spiritual life and relationships?
– Identify the times you have relied on your gifts or morality as evidence of your faith rather than experiencing God’s transformative love. How has this affected your walk with Christ?
5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)
– What specific steps can you take to experience God’s Agape love more deeply that you may be genuinely transformed?
– Think of a relationship where you’ve struggled to love unconditionally. What practical actions can you take to love that person with the same patience, kindness, and selflessness that Jesus exemplified?
6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)
– Praise the Heavenly Father for His infinite, unconditional love that transforms our hearts and draws us closer to Him. Thank Him for the gift of Jesus Christ, who exemplified perfect love in His life and sacrifice. Express your gratitude that His love is patient, kind, and selfless, never insisting on its own way, but always seeking our good and His glory.
– Come before Him in repentance for the times you have relied on your gifts, talents, and performance instead of resting in His perfect love. Ask for forgiveness for prioritizing yourself and saying ‘me first’ instead of ‘you first’ in your relationships with others and with God. Confess your arrogance and self-centeredness, and ask for His grace to transform your heart, so that you may love others with the same unconditional love that He has shown us.
