God instructed the Israelites to designate Cities of Refuge as a safe haven from undue punishment. This week, Rev. Jeremiah Cheung reminds us that Christ is our refuge and that we—as a church and as individuals—must be a refuge for sinners and a blessing to others.

Life Group Discussion Guide
1. Start with a prayer
2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)
• Follow up from last week’s ‘Engage the Hands’. How did you respond to things that you tend to grumble about?
• What brings you comfort when you are facing a difficulty?
3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)
• Read the passage. How does the passage reflect Christ?
• In what way is the passage relevant to you?
4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)
• How have you experienced finding a refuge? What was it like for you?
• How do you feel about Christ as your refuge?
• Is there anything that hinders you to come to the place of refuge (that is, Christ)? (Note to leaders: This might include an unresolved heart issue, a wrong perception of the Gospel, etc. This is an opportunity to minister and to share the Gospel.)
• What are some ways we can be a place of refuge for someone?
5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)
• Think of someone in your circles that is in need of a place of refuge. What can you start doing to be Christ’s hands and feet in being a refuge for him/her?
6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)
• Thank God that He is our Refuge. He welcomes us as we are despite our sins, baggages, hurts, and doubts.
• Ask for the Spirit’s guidance that we may fully come and embrace Christ as our refuge – that He is our safe place with all our vulnerabilities.
• Pray that as we experience Christ’s acceptance and restoration, we may extend His character to the people He has placed in our hearts.
