The Two Visions

Daniel 7-8 presents us with two visions and their interpretations of things to come. In this message, Ptr. Genesis Tan reminds us through these visions to trust and rest in the Lord, endure and remain faithful to Him, and prepare for Christ’s glorious return.

1. Start with a prayer

2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)

  • How do you feel about the current events in the country/world? (Note to leaders: Focus on the shared emotion instead of political views. Remind the group that having different political views is alright and we do not have to agree on the views.)

3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)

  • Describe the two visions of Daniel.
  • What is the relevance of these visions to us now?
  • What did you learn about God and His kingdom?

4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)

  • What does it mean for you that God and His kingdom are eternal and you are invited to be with Him? (Note to leaders: If you have members who are not believers yet, this is an opportunity to share the Gospel – the chaos, pain, suffering, ugliness of the world are temporary. Our hope is in Jesus and His eternal kingdom.)

5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)

  • How can you live differently today knowing that God’s kingdom is eternal?

6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)

  • Thank God because He is our hope and source of strength despite the chaos in the world and the challenges we face everyday.
  • Pray for the people and countries going through unrest, that they may find refuge and peace in Christ.
  • Pray for opportunities to share the Gospel – the hope we have in Christ to others.
