1. Start with a prayer
2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)
- For the married, what do you enjoy about being a husband/wife?
- For the unmarried, what does a Biblical marriage look like to you?
3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)
- Read the passage. According to the passage, what is the role of a wife?
- What is the role of a husband?
- What did you learn about Christ’s example of submission?
- What did you learn about Christ’s example of unconditional love?
4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)
- For the married, what about your role do you find it easy or hard to obey God?
- For the unmarried, how is your relationship with someone God has placed as authority in your family?
5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)
- For the married, what specific actions can you take to be more like the husband/wife that God has designed you to be? How are you going to do it?
- For the unmarried, what specific actions of obedience can you take towards submission to God?
6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)
- Thank God for Jesus’ model of submission to the Father and His sacrificial love at the cross for us.
- Ask for God’s forgiveness during the times when we disobey and take His love for granted.
- Ask for the Spirit’s power to help us submit to Christ’s headship and to the people He appointed as authority over us and for us to love like Christ.
