Judgment Goes Forth

Zechariah’s vision shows that God will use His Holy Word to judge sin certainly and completely. This week, Ptr. Genesis Tan shows us that the LORD who loves and restores His people is also the same righteous God who will punish sin and destroy wickedness.

1. Start with a prayer

2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)

  • Choose 2 LG members to share a devotion they recently had.
  • Share a time when you violated a rule (may be at home, school, or workplace).

3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)

  • What was Zechariah’s vision? What is the meaning of this vision?
  • What sins were indicated in this passage? Why do you think only 2 sins were pointed out?
  • How does God deal with sin? What do you think of this?
  • What does this reveal about God’s heart?

4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)

  • Read v.3. What does ‘This is the curse that is going out over the whole land’ imply? What does this mean to you?
  • Read v.4. What does this verse say will happen if we don’t deal with our sins?
  • What are some sins that we tend to consider as “minor/small sins”? What does this passage say about these sins?
  • How do we reconcile God’s judgment with Christ’s death on the cross and overcoming death?
  • What is your response to Christ’s death on the cross and overcoming death?

5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)

  • Knowing that every sin is seen by God, what course of action can you take this week to turn away from “minor/small sins”?

6. Engage God in prayer (20-30 mins)

  • Pray for each other’s needs and concerns. (10-15 minutes)
  • Pray for our country. (10-15 minutes)
  • The high rate of unemployment, rising hunger, and increase in prices of commodities.
  • Navotas ammonia leak: 1 dead, 65 hospitalized.
