天上的法庭 The Courtroom in Heaven

撒旦被稱為那控告者,牠在神面前晝夜控告屬神的人,但主耶穌為我們承擔了罪的刑罰,更成為君尊的祭司,不單除去了全地罪孽,更帶來了全地的和平。

Satan accuses God’s people of wrongdoing before God, but the Lord Jesus has already paid the penalty for our sins. This week, Rev. Jeremiah Cheung explains how Jesus is our royal high priest; He not only removed the sins of the world, He also brings peace to the whole earth.

1. Start with a prayer

2. Engage the mind

  • What point in this message was most impactful for you?
  • Who are present in the courtroom? What is the accusation? Why is Joshua being accused? What is the verdict and sentence?
  • What is the significance that Joshua is dressed in filthy clothes and his clothes are replaced?
  • What have you learned about God through this passage?

3. Engage the heart

  • We notice that Joshua was silent all throughout, why do you think he remained silent? Place yourself in the shoes of Joshua, what would be your response?
  • What does this passage teach us about how God deals with our sins?
  • What does it mean for you that God has cleansed you from sin through Jesus?
  • When have you taken His grace for granted? Please share.

4. Engage the hands

  • What would you commit to do in response to God’s grace and forgiveness?
  • How would you plan to resist a particular sin in the coming weeks? Is there something you need to do or to avoid to keep you from committing sin?
  • Spend an intimate moment with God to ask for His forgiveness and for His empowerment to help you resist the temptation to commit sin.

5. Engage with God in prayer

  • Pray for your family’s needs and concerns.
  • Pray for our country.
    • Good relationship and partnership of Philippines and US with the new governance of US
    • Rising cases of COVID-19 (reaching 500,000+ cases to date)
