Joshua: The Servant of the LORD
Joshua showed us that to be a great leader, one must first be a good servant. In this message, Ptr. Genesis Tan urges us to follow Joshua’s example of choosing to serve the Lord in humility, courage, and diligence so that we too can be overcomers.

- What qualities did Joshua have? Read Num. 27:18, how did God describe Joshua and what does this mean?
- What challenges did Joshua face? How did Joshua overcome life’s challenges?
- How did Moses encourage Joshua (Deut. 3:7-8)? How did the Israelites encourage Joshua (Joshua 1:16-18)? How did the Lord encourage Joshua (Deut. 31:14, 23 and Joshua 1:1-2, 6)?
- How did Joshua’s life foreshadow our Lord Jesus? How is Jesus victorious?
4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)
- How do you handle trials and failures?
- How does God’s ‘be strong and courageous’ in Joshua 1:7-9 apply to you right now?
- For you, how important is God’s word/instructions? If God’s word is important, what about it that you are struggling to obey?
- Reflect on Joshua 24:15. What does this mean for you?
5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)
- In what way can our group help you in your struggle to obey God? (accountability)
6. Engage God in prayer (20-30 mins)
- Pray for each other’s needs and concerns. (10-15 minutes)
- Pray for our country. (10-15 minutes)
- Wisdom and godly counsel for our nation’s leaders to make the right decisions
- Salvation and personal encounters of our leaders with God, that they may experience God’s saving grace
- God’s justice and righteousness to reign in our land
