How can we go through life with a wholehearted devotion to God? Ptr. Jared Co urges us to reflect on the life of Caleb so we too and can be resolute and ready to live according to our convictions each and every day.

Life Group Discussion Guide

1. Start with a prayer

2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)

  • Choose 2 LG members to share a devotion they recently had.
  • How are you the past week?

3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)

  • What motivated Caleb to press on for 45 years? What was his dream?
  • What trials did Caleb have to overcome? How did he overcome these?
  • How did Caleb respond when the Israelites decided not to conquer?
  • What have you learned about God through Caleb’s story? How did God show us His whole heart in Jesus Christ?

4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)

  • Share a time when, like the 10 spies who saw the enemies, you felt fearful of what is ahead. Share a time when, like Caleb, you chose to trust and follow God.
  • In Caleb’s story, the 10 spies got their way when they voted not to enter the promised land and Caleb had to wait for 45 years even though he was zealous. Have you been in a situation where you felt unfair? Please share.
  • Do you struggle to follow God wholeheartedly? What are your hesitations?

5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)

  • Think of ways you can wholeheartedly follow God now.
  • How is God challenging you through this message? How will you respond?

6. Engage God in prayer (20-30 mins)

  • Pray for each other’s needs and concerns. (10-15 minutes)
  • Pray for our country. (10-15 minutes)
    • Increasing number of people infected with the virus.
    • Families who are adjusting to the new education system.
    • People who are working from home to be refreshed and to find a balance of work and rest.
