Rev. Jeremiah Cheung kicks off a new message series that will draw vital lessons from the lives of 13 biblical characters. This week, let us learn how to emulate Abraham’s faithful response to God’s call so we, too, can experience God’s presence in difficult times.

Life Group Discussion Guide

1. Start with a prayer

2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)

  • Choose 2 LG members to share a devotion they recently had.
  • Share 2-3 things that you consider as a blessing from God.

3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)

  • Read the passage.
  • What difficult circumstance was Abraham facing? What things did he have to give up? How did Abraham overcome a difficult situation in his life?
  • What have you learned about God from Abraham’s life?
  • What kind of relationship does Abraham have with God?

4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)

  • How much does God love you? How has Abraham’s obedience brought blessing to people including us?
  • How is your relationship with God?
  • Is there a command you have been putting on hold to obey? What hinders you to obey?

5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)

  • Are you facing a difficult situation now? Learning from Abraham, how can you overcome it? How can our group help you overcome it?
  • How can you obey God and trust Him now?

6. Engage God in prayer (20-30 mins)

  • Pray for each other’s needs and concerns. (10-15 minutes)
  • Pray for our country. (10-15 minutes)
    • Conflicts within the families to be handled and resolved with grace and forgiving hearts.
    • Protection of employers and employees going to work.
    • Safety of the frontliners and their families.
