When we look to the world, we find only cause for fear and despair. This week, Rev. Jeremiah Cheung reminds us that, if we lift our eyes to our Lord and seek Him with an attitude of humility, we have the assurance that He will show us mercy in our times of desperation.

1. Start with a prayer

2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)

  • What did you hear? What point in the message was most impactful for you?

3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)

  • Read the passage
  • What do we learn about God from this passage?
  • According to the passage, how can we look to God?
  • How did the psalmist respond to the proud?
  • How does this psalm reflect Jesus’ experience on the cross?

4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)

  • Share a time when you lifted your eyes to look to Jesus.
  • God is Sovereign and Merciful. Is this a Truth that you struggle with? How have you experienced/struggled with this Truth?
  • What does it mean for you to depend on God for mercy?

5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)

  • How would you like to respond to God’s mercy?
  • How can you turn and look to God now? What aspect of your life do you need to surrender to God and how will you do it?
  • What about this passage that you would like to remember?

6. Engage God in prayer (20-30 mins)

  • Pray for each other’s needs and concerns. (10-15 minutes)
  • Pray for our country. (10-15 minutes)
    • Healing for the sick and protection for the vulnerable.
    • Sustainability of the businesses, policies and changes in business operations
    • Unity of LGUs in preventing the spreading of virus
