In living our Christian lives, we inevitably need courage to face persecutions and trials on account of faith. This week, Ptr. Jared Co looks into the story of Daniel in the Lion’s Den to show us why courage is needed, where courage is forged, and when courage is tested.
Chapters 4 and 5 of Daniel tell stories of two kings and their contrasting reactions to the warnings of God. One humbled himself, while the other persisted in his pride. This week, listen to Rev. Jeremiah Cheung as he discusses the downfall of continuing a life of pride before God. “For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”
King Belshazzar lived a life of pride and was unrepentant despite Daniel’s warning. God destroyed his empire in response to his hardened heart. In this message, Ptr. Genesis Tan explains how God humbles the proud and rewards the humble. May we examine our lives and ask God to make us sensitive to any pride that displeases Him.
