Behold, the King of Glory

A life rooted in God’s Word is a life of worship. This Sunday, Ptr. Nathan Tee exhorts us to dwell in God’s Word, for only then can our vision of God be restored. As His holiness reveals our true condition, let us honor Him with grateful hearts as the King of Glory.

Life Group Discussion Guide
1. Start with a prayer
2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)
- If someone asked you, “What shapes the way you see the world?” how would you answer?
3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)
- Read the psalm. How did meditating on God’s Word shape David’s perspective and vision of the world?
- How does seeing God’s glory expose our true condition?
4. Examine the heart (15-20 mins)
- What most influences the way you see the world—God’s Word or the values and priorities around you? Why?
- In which areas of your life do you tend to act like an owner rather than a steward of what God has entrusted to you? Where do you think this is rooted?
- What competes with Jesus for the throne of your heart today? What would it look like to fully enthrone Him as your King?
5. Empower the hands (15-20 mins)
- How can you intentionally view your work, possessions, relationships, or time as belonging to God this week? What is one way you can demonstrate that Jesus is truly the King of your life through your choices, priorities, or relationships this week?
- When God exposes your sin or inadequacy, what is your usual response? Do you become defensive, discouraged, or are you led to repentance and dependence on Christ? What step will you take this week to repent and obey in where God has exposed sin?
6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)
- Praise the Heavenly Father for He is the King of Glory, the Creator and rightful Owner of all things. Thank Him for revealing Himself through His creation and His Word, and for opening our eyes to see His greatness. Thank Him that through Jesus Christ, we receive blessing, righteousness, and salvation, and are welcomed into His presence despite our unworthiness. May our lives continually honor and exalt Him as our glorious King.
- Ask for forgiveness for the times you have lived as though your life, achievements, possessions, and plans belonged to you instead of God. Confess the areas where pride, self-sufficiency, or worldly thinking have shaped your perspective more than God’s Word. Ask Him to humble your heart, lead you to genuine repentance, and help you enthrone Jesus as the true King of every part of your life.
