1. Start with a prayer
2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)
• Share a time when you asked God for a “sign.” What was your motive behind it? What happened?
3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)
• Read the passage. What were the Pharisees really asking for when they demanded a sign from Jesus? Why was their motive wrong?
• How does the Bible describe the true purpose of miracles? Did you have the same perspective before today?
4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)
• When you pray or ask God for something, do you sometimes seek a “sign” more than seeking God Himself? Where is this rooted?
• How do you recognize wrong motives in your heart when you ask for God’s help? Are you willing to let Him expose them? What encourages and hinders you from doing so?
5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)
• What specific thought, action, or behavior is God rebuking you to turn away from? What steps can you take this week to live out repentance?
• How will you share the message of Jesus’ death and resurrection with someone in your life who is still seeking “signs” or visible proof?
6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)
• Praise the Heavenly Father for revealing the greatest miracle through Jesus’ death and resurrection. Thank Him that His Word is sufficient to lead you to faith and that His Spirit continues to convict, guide, and strengthen you. Rejoice that His power is made known not just in wonders but in the gift of salvation and repentance He freely gives.
• Repent for the times you have looked for signs and miracles instead of trusting in the finished work of Christ. Ask forgiveness for harboring wrong motives in your prayers and for allowing unbelief to linger in your heart. Pray for a repentant spirit that returns to God daily, choosing to rely on His Word and resurrection power as the anchor of your faith.
