Transformed (1). Setting Personal Goals by Faith
In today’s message, Rev. Jeremiah Cheung launches our 2017 church-wide campaign entitled TRANSFORMED. He explains the importance of goals in our lives and shows how goals — if pursued with the grace of God — can lead us to real transformation. See Part 2
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2
“All athletes practice strict self-control. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize. So I run straight to the goal with purpose in every step.” 1 Corinthians 9:25-26a (NLT)
Suggestions for Lifegroup Discussion
- What does the word “goal” mean to you? Would you describe yourself as goal-oriented
- Without goals, we drift through life. God wants us to live intentionally. Write down at least one goal for personal change in the next 50 days.
- Hold up your goal(s) under this grid: Will it honor God? Is it motivated by love? Will it require depending on God? Pray together, asking God to do amazing things in your lives as you set goals by faith. Plan to record the changes you see in one another.
