Through the prophet Joel, the Lord spoke of events — the exile of Israel and their restoration from captivity — before they came to pass. At the same time, the prophet also spoke of a day of judgment – a day that is coming. As the Lord’s plan continues to unfold, are you ready for that day of judgment?

When a sinful nation repents, the Lord is quick to forgive and accomplish great things for them. Let us seek to restore our relationship with the Lord and let gladness and rejoicing follow.

The Lord did more than call His people to repentance; He also taught them how to pray for forgiveness. Let us learn how to pray earnestly with a repentant heart, for this is exactly the type of prayer that God answers.

There is no escape for the unrepentant when the Lord’s day comes. Let us recognize each new calamity and crisis – whether man-made or natural – as a reminder to repent and return to the Lord.
