Life Group Discussion Guide
1. Start with a prayer
2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)
• Share a question or problem you’ve been struggling to understand or accept. What do you usually do when faced with things you can’t grasp rationally?
3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)
• Read the passage. Why and when would spiritual gifts cease (vv.9-10)? List passages about the purpose of spiritual gifts. Prove whether or not they have accomplished their purpose.
• In your own words, explain why love is considered the greatest compared to faith and hope (v.13). How do faith, hope, and love relate to each other?
4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)
• Reflect on the nature of your love. Is it limitless, or do you find it conditional and restricted by personal biases or selfishness? In what ways can your love mature and become more like Christ’s?
• Do you believe that your love for others demonstrates your identity as a follower of Christ? How does your love reflect God’s nature in your daily life?
5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)
• How can you practice relying on God like a child this week, especially when you face uncertainties or things you don’t fully understand?
• Identify someone in your life you can express faith, hope, and love to. What specific actions will you take to prioritize loving that person in a way that mirrors God’s love?
6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)
• Praise the Heavenly Father for His love never ends and is boundless, far greater than any spiritual gift or ability we possess. Thank Him for reminding us that even when our knowledge fails and our abilities fade, His love remains constant and unchanging. Express your gratitude that through His love, we are drawn closer to Him and to one another.
• Ask for forgiveness for the times when you have valued your gifts, knowledge, and abilities above loving others. Repent of your selfishness, pride, and the ways you have prioritized your achievements over loving God and those around you. Pray that your heart continues to be transformed by His love so that your actions are rooted in His perfect and endless love.
