這就是愛(一) This is What Love Is (1)
當我們尋求聖經對愛的定義時,我們經常參考哥林多前書第 13 章。本週,張國強牧師向我們闡述了上帝對愛的標準。
We often refer to 1 Corinthians 13 when we seek the Bible’s definition of love. This week, Rev. Jeremiah Cheung explains God’s standard of love by showing us what love is and what it’s not.

Life Group Discussion Guide
1. Start with a prayer
2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)
• Share a time when you were unkind in your actions toward others. Why do you think you reacted that way? How could you have shown kindness while still standing for the Truth?
3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)
• Read the passage. Explain how love would have helped the Corinthians’ problems.
• Do the following with each characteristic of love (vv.4-7): (1) define its meaning, (2) give at least one other passage about it, and (3) list at least two specific applications of it in your life.
4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)
• Examine yourself: What areas in your life do you tend to tolerate sin or compromise the Truth to avoid conflict or to please others? How is God calling you to approach these with the right balance of kindness and integrity?
• Is your hope anchored on the Cross? How does the hope you have in Christ influence your ability to love others?
5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)
• How can you practice biblical patience in your daily life, especially in situations where you are tempted to react negatively or give up?
• How can you actively protect, hope, and persevere in love within your community (Life Group, family, friends, school/workmates, church), particularly toward those who may challenge your patience or kindness?
6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)
• Praise the Heavenly Father for His unfailing love that is patient, kind, and enduring. Thank Him for the example of Christ, who showed us what true love looks like even in the face of suffering and betrayal. Express your gratitude for God’s love that always protects, trusts, hopes, and perseveres, and that through His love, we are empowered to love others with the same grace and truth.
• Come before the Lord in repentance for the times you have been impatient, unkind, and unwilling to endure difficult situations with others. Ask for forgiveness for the moments when you have compromised the Truth to please others or failed to show love as He has called us to. Ask God for the strength to align your heart with His love, so that you may faithfully reflect His character in all your relationships.
