Discussion Questions

Use these questions to guide your life group discussions or personal reflections.

1. Reflect on your day/week. How are you feeling (Happy, Sad, Worried/Fearful, Angry, etc.)? How is God speaking to you through your emotions?

2. Our present joy has tears. Why was Israel glad? How is v.1 different from v.4? What is your greatest joy? How does Jesus’ redemption bring you joy?

3. Our present joy has promise. Read vv.5-6, how can we be certain of God’s promise of greater joy? What is the psalmist asking God to do? How is the picture of Negeb and sowing help us understand joy?

4. Our promised joy has power. What does it mean to ‘sow in tears’? What are the 2 ways we can sow in tears? In what way is Jesus involved in the lives of other people?

5. How is the Holy Spirit speaking to you through this message?
