Withered Without You

Without Jesus, our lives are like a withered and empty mess. This week, Ptr. Renz Raquion explains that true wholeness can only be found in Christ. He alone can restore and transform our once-withered existence so we can live fully in His presence.

1. Start with a prayer

2. Engage one another (15-30 mins)
– Share a time when you felt spiritually “”withered””—drained, distant from God, or stuck in guilt. What helped you heal and move forward?

3. Engage the mind (15-20 mins)
– Read the passage. How did Jesus’ response to the man and the Pharisees reveal His heart for restoration?
– Why did the Pharisees respond with hardness of heart instead of rejoicing in the man’s healing? What does this teach us about legalism and grace?

4. Engage the heart (15-20 mins)
– In what ways have you experienced spiritual dryness or brokenness? How did it affect your relationship with God and others?
– Be honest: What moments do you typically catch yourself judging or condemning others instead of offering grace? What makes it difficult to extend compassion?

5. Engage the hands (15-20 mins)
– How can you intentionally step into the middle and allow Jesus to heal areas of your life that feel withered?
– What practical ways can you show compassion to those around you who feel isolated or burdened?

6. Engage with God in prayer (20-30 mins)
– Praise the Heavenly Father for His power to restore what is broken. Thank Him for seeing beyond your imperfections and offering healing, grace, and transformation. Express gratitude for His unfailing love that reaches you even in your withered state and for His invitation to step into wholeness through Christ.
– Repent for the times you have ignored your need for Christ’s restoration and relied on your own strength. Ask for forgiveness for any hardness of heart, whether in refusing to receive His grace or in withholding compassion from others. Pray that you may have the humility to bring your brokenness before Him and the heart to extend His love to those who need it.
